Hey, I’m glad to be back with a post! I actually had butterflies in my stomach putting this together🦋. Why? I have family and friends in the fashion and sewing business and it just felt precious writing this with them in mind💐. In fact, a question from a cousin on a previous post inspired this one. Let’s consider a few cool ideas to add to your already setup sewing or design studio.
Leaning Fabric Hanger

Delicate-looking, right? But this piece can hold about 36 folded, medium to light-weight yards of fabric. And it should conserve space and provide some organisation. A clutter-free and spacious room, I imagine would do the mind some good for the significant mental and physical work that is involved in designing, cutting and sewing.
Beautiful Framed Texts

Words are things. They can motivate. So why not write your best lines and hang up where you can see them and smile. And make it nice. That means you will need a good frame and nice font styles. It’s your workspace and it should be happy.
Colours and Lights

Be intentional about colours and light this season. We all need the liveliness they add to interiors. And don’t be afraid of the cost. You can always work out resourceful and cost-effective ideas around it or discuss discounts on the quotes submitted by your electrician, carpenter and painter. And oh, it is good I add that there are colours that make a small studio appear larger. Some of them are below.

Sewing Studio Peg Boards

I can’t say that I have seen pegboards in any shop I have been to (Nigeria). But I imagine that they will be somewhere. Pegboards are versatile and I really like this one☝️by Workspacery on Pinterest. It has some of my favourite things, clock for keeping to time, potted plant for the beauty and framed texts for the inspiration!
In closing…

I hope this has been useful to my Sew-Stars! Do let me know in the comment section below whether you will like to incorporate any of the ideas and which one. Talk to you soon.

I love what I see! I’ll sure try out the peg board as I’ve been planning to for months now. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. If you find pegboards around, please buzz! Thank you.
Very much useful, thank you. Wish there’s an idea of where peg boards can be gotten, I’d really love to get one.
Thank you, Bethel. I’ll check for a vendor in Enugu (that is where I am) and in Lagos. If I find, you’ll receive the contact by mail.
Thank you for reading.
Great post Chi. For someone like me that works from home. All these ideas are great to try.
Thanks Chi.
Oh great!
I love the framed text idea. A nice way to personalise while adding the always needed motivational words. Thanks Sis
